Polyfest learning story
“Mita mita ga tasi tasi sau.”
Hello, have you ever been to Hosanna Church ? Well I have. Anyways the name is Mel.
On the 10th of August at Hosanna Church, Corinna School participated in an event known as Polyfest. Polyfest is a NZ wide event that many schools, groups (etc) are involved in. It’s a way for children and adults to communicate a story about their culture through song and dance.
On the day I performed the key competencies I used were supporting others when they are on the stage so they can feel confident and happy, being responsible of my stuff and using respectful words to others.
I was good at learning the words off by heart and singing it like I am a superstar that is going to be famous,I was bad at looking forward but instead I was looking at the floor like a sad flower left in the rain all alone .
I felt kinda nervous but at the same time I was happy to make my Mum and Dad happy and proud like I just won a $1,000 cheque.
When I took my first step on the stage I knew it was time to shine bright like a diamond! I felt my sweaty palms because I was so nervous I was going to puke in front of the audience.
I saw people getting ready to flash their camera light at me and my Samoan group,I also saw my Mum,Dad and sister sitting way at the back.
When i came down from the stage I heard everyone cheering for the Samoan group,When i sat down i was cheering for people who tried there best
